Reaching Out to the Community

What Does Family Mean to You?

Take a moment to think about Family. What does “family” mean to you? Do you instantly reminiscence about past vacations with your parents, or what your children are doing in school today? Do you think about summertime family reunions complete with story after story of what life was like for the generations that came before you?

We like to say that there is a Y in every Family and we are honored to consider you, our valued members and volunteers, part of our family. Here at the Joe & Mary Mottino Family YMCA, we are working hard to provide our Family with programs and resources that will help to strengthen their families at home. We are committed to growing our community (our family, if you will), but we realize that not all of our family members have the financial ability to participate. With that in mind, I challenge you to reach out and help a Y family member in need through this year’s Annual Support Campaign, which kicked off on January 28, 2015.

While we are facing a challenging goal of raising $180,000 to use towards scholarships and financial assistance, our dedicated campaign volunteers have already raised $113,490! We still have approximately $67,000 to raise and we know that the more volunteers and campaigners we have, the closer we will be to reaching our goal. If you are interested in volunteering your time or making a monetary donation to assist in our efforts, please call the branch at 760-758-0808 or visit us online.

When you advocate with the Y, you take an active role in bringing about meaningful, enduring change right in your own neighborhood.
