Reaching Out to the Community

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to our members, our volunteers, and our board members! Here at the Joe & Mary Mottino Family YMCA we give thanks for a very successful 2014 and look forward to serving all of you in 2015!

Thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers and staff, the 2014 Kid’s Need Heroes Gala went off without a hitch! On September 13, 2014, 200 guests enjoyed live music, dinner, and a competitive silent and live auction all with the goal of raising as much money as possible to help the children in our community. Because of the generosity of our guests, we raised $30,000, all of which will be put towards improving the quality of life for children in the most under-served areas of our community.

In an effort to better connect our members and their families to the programming that we have to offer, we now have a Membership Engagement Director. In November, 2014, Kimberly Sonoda joined our team and has been working tirelessly to create great experiences for our members. Please visit our website and Facebook page to see what Kim has in store for you!

Speaking of Facebook, we want to connect with you! We’re dedicated to providing our Facebook fans with news and highlights about our wonderful facility. If you’re not already a fan, please log onto Facebook, “like” us, and check our page daily for the latest information.

With the new year comes our renewed dedication to making a positive impact in our community. I ask that you join us in this endeavor. We are always looking for volunteers and we hope that you’ll accept the challenge and join us. If you are interested in volunteering your time or making a monetary donation to assist in our efforts, please call the branch at 760-758-0808 or visit us online.

On behalf of the staff team at the Joe & Mary Mottino Family YMCA, I look forward to working with each and every one of you and our community partners to make a positive and lasting difference in the lives of children, youth, and families in our community.
